THE BACK STORY
My wife was constantly accusing me of not helping out around the house. I was amazed that my wife had no understanding about how much I helped with the upkeep of the household.
So I decided to prove her wrong. My idea was simple. I would write down all the housework that I did in a day.
That’s right…I would accumulate a list of itemized proof so massive, it would put the Dead Sea scrolls to shame…Oh yes…there was going to be a BIG reckoning of accounts.
My contributions would be documented and my wife would finally have to admit to my true worth!
…by three in the afternoon I hadn’t written down a single thing…
Panicked…I started looking for even the slightest task as proof of action.
The idea for this story came about when I found my sad little list months later and I read the following:
Item 1: Held door open to basement for wife to do the laundry.
Yep…I’m a keeper!
