STORY 5 – THE ARGUMENT

THE BACK STORY

This is a true story and a video record of the greatest come back line that I ever uttered in my life!

I grew up as a teenager in the late 70’s.  All my friends had really cool muscle cars with enormous engines that were really fast.  They also had all the girls!!  It didn’t matter how stupid, rude, or how questionable the personal hygiene of the guy….if he had a fast car…he had a pretty girlfriend.

I…on the other hand…had a bike…my sister’s old bike.

A few years ago, I was driving through some country back roads on my way back from Ottawa.  I was driving past a farm when I saw a 1970 Dodge Dart for sale on a front lawn.  It looked EXACTLY like the cars I drooled over in high school.  I don’t what compelled me…but I turned the car around and went back to the farm.

I had no intentions of buying a car that day.  It was probably the furthest thing from my mind.

I rang the doorbell and inquired about the car.  The owner hadn’t finished speaking two sentences before I said “I’ll take it!”.  I didn’t even haggle the price.

I also didn’t tell my wife about what I had done.  I just showed up at home and said “Taaaa Daaaa!”

I began buying parts for the car.  I bought a heater for the garage and a nice cozy car cover.   I gave the car a name and worked on her every weekend.

It was then when my wife accused me of having a mid life crisis.

I have no idea how my brain came up with this witty line…but I cherish the moment that I finally won an argument with my wife.

Enjoy the video.

THE VIDEO (PLEASE COMMENT AFTER VIEWING)

This video makes me laugh just because of the sheer size of the engine.  The car is ridiculous.  What do you think?  You can post your comments below.
